IWO, Osun State — Ayekooto Communications Limited has appointed veteran broadcaster and media executive, Otunba Babatunde Tiamiyu, as the General Manager of Ayekooto 88.3 FM, the first commercial private radio station in Iwo and the wider Osun West Senatorial District.

The appointment was announced by the Board of Directors, which expressed confidence in Tiamiyu’s capacity to lead the station into a new phase of growth, innovation and competitiveness.

Speaking shortly after assuming office, Tiamiyu called for the support and cooperation of the Board, management and staff as he unveiled a three-point agenda to reposition the station.

According to him, the agenda will focus on a comprehensive review of the station’s programming and content, continuous training and retraining of staff, and strategic revenue expansion to strengthen Ayekooto FM’s financial sustainability.

Commenting on the appointment, the immediate past Board Secretary, Engr. Idris Olumoye Jabar, described Tiamiyu as a seasoned media administrator with the experience, vision and leadership required to take the station to greater heights.

Jabar said the Board’s decision was based on Tiamiyu’s proven track record in broadcast management, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience would further consolidate Ayekooto FM’s position as one of the leading radio stations in Osun State and beyond.

He also commended the outgoing Acting General Manager, Alhaji Musibau Akanji, for his dedication and steady leadership during the transition period and urged members of staff to give the new General Manager their full support.

Before his appointment, Tiamiyu served as General Manager of Pensioners’ 106.7 FM, Ibadan. An indigene of Ede in Osun State, he previously worked at Radio Nigeria, Ibadan National Station, where he built a distinguished career in broadcasting and media management.

Established on June 23, 2022, Ayekooto 88.3 FM is owned by Ayekooto Communications Limited. The station was founded to provide quality broadcasting that informs, educates and entertains while promoting community development and Yoruba cultural values.

With the motto, “Truthfulness: Our Shield, Our Sword,” Ayekooto FM has continued to strengthen its reputation as a trusted voice for listeners within and beyond Iwoland.
