IBADAN — The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, ARUSA I, has called on traditional leaders and other critical stakeholders across Ibadanland to attend the official flag-off ceremony for the concrete dualisation of the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road.

The Federal Government is scheduled to flag off the landmark road project on Monday, August 24, 2026, in continuation of efforts to improve critical road infrastructure across the country.

Oba Ladoja, in a statement, urged members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Ibadan Royal Highnesses, Mogajis, Baales, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and other stakeholders to turn out in large numbers for the ceremony.

The monarch described the project as a significant infrastructural intervention that would enhance connectivity, facilitate movement and stimulate economic activities across Ibadanland and neighbouring communities.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Federal Government for giving renewed attention to the strategic Ibadan–Ijebu Ode corridor.

According to the Olubadan, the concrete dualisation of the road would deliver lasting benefits to residents, motorists, businesses and other road users while strengthening the economic links between Oyo State and other parts of the South-West.

Oba Ladoja also commended the Minister of Works, Senator (Engr.) David Umahi, for what he described as his commitment to the implementation of critical road infrastructure projects across the country.

The Olubadan noted that the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road serves as a major economic and transportation corridor, connecting Ibadan with Ijebu Ode and facilitating movement across several parts of the South-West.

He therefore urged traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders to identify with what he described as a historic milestone in the development of Ibadanland and the wider region.

The monarch further assured the Federal Government of Ibadanland’s continued support for developmental initiatives capable of improving the welfare of the people, strengthening connectivity and accelerating economic growth.

The flag-off is expected to attract government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders and other dignitaries from Oyo State and beyond.
