Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, has announced her return to active politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the gubernatorial aspiration of Senator Sharafadeen Alli in Oyo State.
The announcement, conveyed through her Special Assistant, Hon. Olatundun Leke Gabriel (JP), a former Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, signals Akinjide’s renewed political engagement and alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement made available on Tuesday, Gabriel expressed appreciation to the former minister’s political associates, loyal supporters and well-wishers for their steadfastness, prayers and continued solidarity over the years.
Describing the development as the beginning of a new chapter in her political journey, the statement declared: “The journey to renewed service has begun. JUMOKE IS COMING – RENEWED HOPE 2027.”
Akinjide also affirmed her alignment with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while throwing her political weight behind Senator Alli, the APC gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State. The statement urged her supporters across the state and beyond to remain united, committed and focused as political activities gather momentum towards the 2027 elections.
Her endorsement of Senator Alli adds another significant political voice to the growing conversation around the APC’s preparations for the next governorship election in Oyo State.
As part of her immediate political engagement, Akinjide has directed her followers and supporters to mobilise for the unveiling of Senator Alli’s gubernatorial manifesto at Ogunlesi Hall, Ibadan, signalling her readiness to participate actively in the campaign and mobilisation efforts.
She further assured supporters that details of subsequent engagements and political activities would be communicated in due course.
Her declaration, encapsulated in the familiar political chant, “Ojuu Juu Juu! Omon Mon Mon! E Ban ke!”, marks a public re-entry into Oyo State’s political landscape as the race towards 2027 gradually takes shape.
