IBADAN — Educare Publications has distributed school bags to about 35 indigent students of Oba Akinbiyi High School 1, Ibadan, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at supporting education and giving back to its alma maters.
The distribution, which took place on Thursday, was part of the organisation’s ongoing school bag distribution project designed to ease the educational burden on parents and guardians while providing support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
During the visit, the team led by the MD/CEO of Educare Publications, Mr Ladipo Abioye, encouraged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies, embrace discipline and pursue academic excellence, stressing the importance of education in shaping their future and contributing to societal development.
The students were also urged to cultivate a culture of generosity by extending similar acts of kindness to others when they attain positions of influence and are financially capable of supporting younger generations.
According to Educare Publications, the initiative reflects its belief that education extends beyond the provision of books and classroom instruction to include creating opportunities, inspiring hope and investing in the future of young people.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to making meaningful contributions to its alma maters and the wider communities that contributed to its growth, noting that giving back remains an essential part of its corporate responsibility.
Operating under the slogan, “We Break Frontiers,” Educare Publications said it would continue to support initiatives that promote educational development and encourage a culture of philanthropy among individuals and organisations.
The intervention at Oba Akinbiyi High School 1 underscores the importance of private-sector participation in education, particularly through targeted assistance to students whose families may struggle to meet some of their basic learning needs.
While school bags may appear modest in the face of the wider challenges confronting the education sector, initiatives of this nature offer practical support to beneficiaries and reinforce the role of corporate organisations and alumni in advancing educational opportunities.
