IBADAN — The Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Tegbe, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to close ranks and work together to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Tegbe made the call on Monday when he visited the Oyo State APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where he met with the State Chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, members of the State Executive Committee and other party leaders.

During the meeting, the minister stressed the need for unity within the party, particularly following the various candidate-selection processes that generated grievances among some aspirants and party members.

He commended the APC Reconciliation Committee, led by Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and Professor Taoheed Adedoja, for its efforts to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Tegbe also pledged to reach out to aspirants and other party stakeholders who are still aggrieved, stressing the importance of bringing all tendencies together in the interest of the party.

He urged the state party leadership to ensure that all interests were carried along and that members were given a sense of belonging as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.

The minister later addressed APC members and supporters at the Tinubu Support Group Secretariat in Yemetu, Ibadan, where he highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu administration, particularly in the power sector.

According to Tegbe, recent improvements in electricity generation and transmission, which have risen above 5,300 megawatts in recent weeks, demonstrate the impact of the administration’s reforms.

He said improved power supply would have direct benefits for households, markets, artisans, workshops, businesses and industries, stressing that the gains being recorded in the sector should be communicated to Nigerians at the grassroots.

Tegbe urged APC members to take the achievements of the Tinubu administration to the people and make them central to the party’s campaign ahead of 2027.

He said the APC must approach the next election as a united political family, putting internal disagreements behind it and concentrating on strengthening its structures and mobilising support across Oyo State.

The minister’s visit to the party secretariat formed part of ongoing efforts to deepen reconciliation and strengthen cooperation among APC stakeholders in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.

The engagements ended with a renewed appeal for party unity, grassroots mobilisation and collective support for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
