IBADAN, Oyo State — Registration has officially opened for the 2026 Oyo State Emerging Political Leaders Summit, a strategic political engagement platform expected to bring together emerging leaders, young professionals, political stakeholders and other key participants from across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The two-day summit is scheduled to hold on August 24 and 25, 2026, at the Ibadan Civic Centre, Ibadan, with organisers positioning the gathering as an avenue for political dialogue, leadership development, networking and collaboration among a new generation of political actors in Oyo State.

According to the summit secretariat, the initiative is designed to deepen political engagement and strengthen the capacity of emerging leaders to contribute meaningfully to the political and socio-economic development of the state.

The organisers said the summit would focus on promoting unity, inclusion, responsible leadership, youth participation and effective political mobilisation, while providing participants with opportunities to exchange ideas and build relationships across political and professional boundaries.

The summit comes at a significant period in Oyo State’s political calendar, as political parties and aspirants begin to intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections. The organisers are therefore presenting the platform as an opportunity for emerging political leaders to engage constructively on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The registration deadline is Tuesday, August 18, 2026, six days before the commencement of the summit.

The secretariat said further information concerning participation, confirmation and other logistical arrangements would be communicated to registered participants as preparations for the event progress.
