The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Hon. Iyiola Olayode Ibraheem, popularly known as Dudu Alubarika, has appealed to members of the party to put aside differences arising from the recently concluded primary election and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a message addressed to members of the party’s progressive family, Ibraheem recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC had, one week earlier, officially affirmed his emergence as the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives seat.
He described the primary election as a healthy democratic exercise and stressed that the time had come for all party members to work together in pursuit of a common objective.
“I speak to you not as a victor, but as your brother, your friend, and a fellow progressive committed to the growth of our party and the development of our constituency,” he stated.
The APC candidate commended all aspirants who participated in the primary election, praising their courage, dedication, and sacrifices, which he said had strengthened the party. According to him, although the contestants pursued the same objective through different paths, they remain members of one political family united by their commitment to the ideals of the APC and the progress of the constituency.
He urged party leaders, elders, youths, women, support groups, and other stakeholders across Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East to close ranks and focus on the task ahead, noting that the general election now deserves the full attention of every party member.
Ibraheem said the party’s opponents might anticipate divisions within its ranks but expressed confidence that APC members would instead demonstrate unity, mutual respect, and determination.
He also appealed for the continued support, counsel, ideas, experience, and active participation of party faithful as the campaign progresses, saying collective efforts would be essential to securing victory in the 2027 general election.
The candidate pledged to uphold fairness, inclusiveness, accessibility, and respect for all members of the party, adding that the mandate belongs to every stakeholder within the APC.
He expressed optimism that a united party would not only achieve electoral success but also provide purposeful, effective, and people-centred representation for the people of the Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency.
Ibraheem concluded his message by praying for the continued progress of the APC, the people of the constituency, Oyo State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
