The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Mr. Kunle Olatunji, has assured children of the commitment of parents and government to their welfare and overall well-being.
Olatunji gave the assurance on Tuesday while serving as the Father of the Day at the 2026 African Children’s Day celebration held at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan Zonal Headquarters.
Addressing the children at the event, the ADP governorship candidate emphasized that it is the responsibility of both parents and government to ensure that children are properly cared for and provided with the necessary support to thrive.
He urged the children not to be discouraged by the challenges facing Nigeria, noting that nations across the world also contend with various difficulties and that Nigeria is not an exception.
According to him, despite the country’s current challenges, children should continue to believe in Nigeria and maintain a positive outlook about its future.
Olatunji encouraged them to remain hopeful, focused on their education, and committed to contributing positively to the nation’s development.
The African Children’s Day celebration brought together pupils, students, educators, parents, and other stakeholders to highlight issues affecting children and promote their rights, welfare, and development.
