The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State and Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Sharafadeen Alli, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, describing June 12 as a symbol of sacrifice, resilience, freedom and democratic perseverance.
In a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, Alli commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as courageous leadership through policies and reforms aimed at rebuilding the economy, strengthening democratic institutions and promoting national stability.
He said the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda was laying the foundation for sustainable growth, improved security, economic recovery and better opportunities for Nigerians.
The senator urged citizens to remain patient and continue supporting the Federal Government, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms would yield long-term prosperity, stability and national development.
Alli also paid tribute to the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola and other pro-democracy heroes, noting that their sacrifices remain enduring reminders of Nigerians’ democratic aspirations and resistance to oppression.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, he assured residents that the APC remained committed to providing purposeful leadership, people-oriented governance and accelerated development across Oyo State.
He called on progressive-minded citizens to unite in efforts to address underdevelopment, insecurity and economic hardship through responsible governance and visionary leadership.
The APC chieftain further expressed concern over the continued captivity of abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the situation as disturbing. He urged security agencies to intensify rescue efforts and assured affected families of the party’s support for measures aimed at improving security and protecting lives across the state.
