Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, during a rescue operation conducted on Saturday evening.

The victims, including the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, were rescued at about 7:30 p.m., three days after they were abducted by suspected kidnappers in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to security sources, two suspected members of the kidnapping gang were neutralised during a gun duel with police operatives, while two firearms were recovered from the suspects.

Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons were kidnapped on June 3, 2026, while she was reportedly taking the children to school in the Challenge area of Ibadan. The incident sparked widespread concern and drew condemnation from political leaders, residents and stakeholders across Oyo State.
Police sources said the victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their family members.

Meanwhile, security operatives have intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate. A manhunt is currently underway in surrounding communities and forested areas, with authorities believing some of the fleeing suspects may have escaped with gunshot wounds.

The Nigeria Police Force is expected to provide further details on the operation as investigations continue.
