Former Ekiti State governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose, has stirred controversy following remarks made during an appearance on Today’s Politics on Channelstv, where he commented on the recent wave of abductions in Oyo State.
While Fayose did not expressly accuse Governor Seyi Makinde of orchestrating the kidnappings, some political observers interpreted his comments as suggesting that the state government should bear responsibility for the deteriorating security situation.
The remarks have since generated debate among political stakeholders, with supporters of the Oyo governor insisting that any insinuation linking the government to criminal activities must be backed by evidence. Others argue that Fayose’s comments were merely political criticism directed at the handling of security challenges in the state.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Governor Makinde nor the Oyo State Government had issued any official response specifically addressing the alleged insinuation.
